Case
A big car maker needed to reinforce the leadership team within different functions preparing the succession plan and looking for the best talents wherever they were operating. A multi-country project, led by an International Project Manager, allowed to attract senior managers with different backgrounds and experiences and place them in the right roles.
The Process
The first step consisted in identifying the needs of the succession plan or job rotation within different functions and the clear definition of the values and skills to be sought in future leaders. Internationality and experience gained in different markets represented a key requirement therefore the search activity has been carried out in the main European countries but also in other foreign markets. The selection process was focused on the technical skills but most of all on the personal characteristics, the predominant values, and the career development expectations of each candidate.
The Challenge
The biggest challenge and great opportunity at the same time, was to assess candidates not for a job vacancy but for potential opportunities still to be defined.
The Outcome
